Dr. Cecilia Naa Nartey earned her medical degree from the University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry and later completed a Master of Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to residency, Dr. Nartey worked as a research scientist at Washington University School of Medicine, contributing to global cardiovascular and population health research, with some of her work output in journals such as EHJ and JACC. This reflects her interest in addressing health disparities through evidence-based practice.
She was drawn to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s Internal Medicine program for its strong commitment to community-based training and emphasis on delivering comprehensive, compassionate, patient-centered care—values that closely align with her passion for serving diverse and underserved populations. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Nartey is deeply committed to mentorship and community service. She has led medical outreach initiatives in Ghana and St Louis and continues to support student mentorship programs. She greatly values time with her family and is passionate about building an impactful career rooted in compassionate care, community engagement, and improving health outcomes at both the individual and population level.
Through her work, she hopes to contribute to advancing equitable healthcare delivery, mentor future physicians, and promote a holistic approach to patient care that emphasizes both prevention and treatment.
