Why did you choose the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Internal Medicine Program?
He chose Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s Internal Medicine program for many reasons. First, it is a small program where the attending physicians know all of their residents well. Therefore, tailored guidance and education can be offered based on the individual resident’s strengths and weaknesses. Second, it is an unopposed residency program which, in my opinion, leads to an overall better residency experience without competition from other programs for cases, procedures, or learning opportunities. Third, the faculty are very knowledgeable and clearly enjoy teaching. Also, the amount of time they dedicate tot their residents is truly exceptional. Last, Poplar Bluff is a small town with many amenities and a cost of living that is affordable on a resident budget.
What impacts do you hope to have on the medical field?
Ever since I decided to pursue a career in healthcare, my goal has been to always have a positive impact on the quality of life for all those I treat. I also wish to improve healthcare access in underserved communities.
