Dr. Nardos Girma Hassen was born and raised in Ethiopia. She earned her medical degree from Wollo University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Following graduation, Dr. Hassen worked in a government hospital, where she cared for underserved populations in resource limited settings. This experience strengthened her commitment to providing equitable and compassionate healthcare.
While preparing for residency, she completed observerships in oncology, sleep medicine, and the intensive care unit, further broadening her clinical exposure within the U.S. healthcare system. She has a strong interest in interventional cardiology and aspires to pursue advanced training in the field.
Dr. Hassen chose to pursue her Internal Medicine residency at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center because of the program’s dedication to serving underserved communities, which closely aligns with her personal mission and prior experience working in resource constrained environments.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking traditional Ethiopian dishes and spending quality time with her family.
