Internal Medicine Residents

Yetunde Ishola, M.D.

I was born and raised in Nigeria. I attended medical school at Oba Okunade Sijuwade College of Health Science, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria. My hobbies include watching movies and TV shows, cooking, and spending quality time with my family. When searching for an Internal Medicine residency, I prioritized programs that emphasize education, diversity, and a strong commitment to serving underserved communities. Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center exceeded my expectations in every way. From the start, I could tell this program was special and the right fit for me. My interview experience further confirmed this, as I truly enjoyed my interactions with the faculty and residents. I knew I wanted to be part of such a supportive team. I am excited to grow as a physician in such a nurturing environment while making a meaningful impact on patients’ lives. I hope to impact the medical field by advocating for underserved communities, addressing and bridging health disparities, and ensuring health equity for all by addressing systemic barriers. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to establish and sustain programs that improve access to quality healthcare. My experiences have shaped my commitment to compassionate, patient-centered medicine that drives meaningful change.
